| Salvation means to be rescued, delivered from sin and its punishment and set free to know, love, and serve our wonderful and only Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. Salvation also means; a saving or being saved from danger, evil, destruction; a person or thing that is a means, cause, or source of preservation or rescue; redemption, etc. The Lord Jesus Christ is the only source of salvation and preservation. Acts 4:12, "Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved." John 14:6, Jesus speaking to Thomas and to all people said, "I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by Me. "There is absolutely no other way to be saved and no other way to Heaven. Jesus also said in John 10:9, "I am the door; by Me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture." He is the Savior and Provider. Phil. 4:19, "But my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus." Paul was speaking to the Philippians, but He will do likewise for us today if we will only trust Him. First of all one must trust the Lord Jesus Christ 100% for salvation and then He will supply all other needs according to His will.
If you are a lost sinner there are some things God wants you to know......
- You are a sinner and cannot save yourself. Romans 3:23, "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God." Isaiah 53:6, "All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; but the Lord hath laid on Him (Jesus) the iniquity of us all."
God wants you to know that ........
- The Lord Jesus Christ has already provided the Way of Salvation as the Scripture declares in John 14:6 Jesus said, "---I am The Way, The Truth, and The Life---." John 3:16, "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
God wants you to know that......
- You must repent of you sins, turn in shame and sorrow from your sins and trust the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation. A person truly believing in Christ as his or her personal Savior, repents, turns from sin to the Lord. Repentance is a change of mind that caused one to turn from the sinful life-style to God for deliverance. Then one begins to live differently because of the work of grace in the heart. 2 Corinthians 5:17, "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all thingsare become new." This indicates a decisive break with the old life at the moment of salvation, the results of the true believers union with Christ. Salvation is a gift from God. Romans 6:23, "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life throughJesus Christ our Lord." Salvation is by grace alone. Eph. 2:8-9, "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God. Not of works, lest any man should boast."
God Wants You to Know That.......
- Acceptance or refusal determines your destiny. John 3:36, "He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him. "You must realize you are a sinner, and see your need of the Saviour and turn from sin to the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation. Trust Him today, five minutes from now may be forever too late. You can pray a simple prayer something like this: Lord, I confess that I am lost and in need of forgiveness and salvation. Therefore I come to you now, trusting you to forgive my sins, change my heart, and give me everlasting life. I believe your Word and know that you died for my sins and I'm believing in you now to be my personal Savior.
Now, if you have received Christ as your personal Savior you have been born-again. God does the work of grace in the heart. Our part is simply believing (trusting) in Christ. After having trusted the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation the next step is to follow the Lord in believers baptism by immersion. This is an answer of a good conscience toward God, signifying the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ. It is also a outward profession of the inward possession of so great salvation, that we have become a new creation in Christ. Then we are to follow the Lord wherever He leads and do what He wants us to do. Ephesians 2:10, "For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them." We are to do good works, because we are saved. We are to faithfully serve the Lord, no matter what. No one could ever do enough good works to merit salvation. Salvation is by grace through faith in Christ plus nothing. Praise God for His Marvelous, Matchless, and Amazing Grace!
