A Time For Everything

When souls are hungry they need to be fed.
From God’s bountiful table with holy bread.
To give us grace and faith to stand,
To carry His Word throughout the land.
Food for the soul should be our delight
To give us courage, the devil to fight.
Joking and laughter is too often heard,
With so little preaching of God’s precious word.
Indeed we should be happy that we are saved by grace,
And going to Heaven at the end of the race.
But we should be mindful of our need for the word
And the great need for others who haven’t heard.
Decent Joking and laughter  may be good in their place,
But never when seeking God’s amazing grace,
Grace to face life’s problems with care,
When we are unable our burdens to bear.
God’s word gives courage and boldness to face
The greatest of problems in any place.
Let us humble ourselves in one accord,
And feast at the table prepared by the Lord.
