The following poem was written by Judy Layne Shepherd in memory of her sister
Gail Layne Bennett who went to be with the Lord June 23, 2001.

I REMEMBER

I remember our early childhood days when all we had to do was play,
I remember catching June Bugs to which we tied strings, and the Lightening Bugs
We caught to put in jars while playing outside under the stars. I remember a
Beloved beagle we named Frisky, and a doll we shared and named Denise. Oh,
The life we shared was one of great peace! I remember High School days and
Peanut, our little dachshund pup, and then I remember growing up! First jobs, our
Wedding, and our boy babies. A shopping trip for something special to buy.
Together watching a movie that made you cry, while I sat with dry eyes!
We were very different but still much the same. And for that, I suppose, we have
Our parents to blame!
Much later I remember a life of trials--The loss of a child.
I remember the problems, your sickness and pain. But through it all closeness
remained. And in the end I realize "LOVE" is what we both gained. Gail, I will
Always remember and never forget, though life here for you has ended---
In Heaven some day we will together again play!
Until then....................I will remember.
