STUDY OF NUMBERS 6 & 7
Six is the number of
imperfection--The number of man, as imperfect and destitute of
God.
Not having trusted Christ, man
is totally without hope. Man was created on the sixth day,
Genesis Chapter one. Six marks
the completion of creation of God's work. The sixth
commandment relates to the
worst sin, murder. Six time Jesus is charged with having a
devil; Matthew 12:24 and Mark
3:22 both speak of the same account; 1. "He hath beelzebub."
2. John 7:20, "Thou hast a
devil." 3. John 8:48, "Say we not well that.. Thou hast a
devil?"
4. John 8:52, "Now we know
that Thou hast a devil." 5. John 10:20, "He hath a devil, and
is
mad." 6. Luke 11:15, "He
casteth out devils by beelzebub." I absolutely refuse to
capitalize any
word that has to do with the
devil, he is undeserving of it. The devil is our worst enemy.
I will
not give him the honor of
capitalizing his name. Number Seven speaks of Spiritual
Perfection,
it is the Divine number, God's
number. God rested from His work of creation on the Seventh
Day
after His six days of
creating. Genesis 12:2-3; Abraham's seven fold blessing of
God;
1. I will make thee a great
nation; 2. And I will bless thee; 3. And make thy name great;
4. And
thou shalt be a blessing; 5.
And I will bless them that bless thee; 6. And curse him that
curseth
thee; 7. And in thee shalt all
the families of the earth be blessed. Galatians 3:13-14,
"Christ hath
redeemed us from the curse of
the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed
is
every one that hangeth on a
tree. That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles
through Jesus Christ; that we
might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith." Verse
19,
"Wherefore then serveth the
Law? It was added because of transgressions, till the Seed
should
come to whom the promise was
made; and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a
mediator."
The bottom line is, the Seed
(Christ) the Redeemer was promised and He came at the
appointed
time to seek and to save that
which was lost, accomplishing His mission on the Cross of
Calvary.
He took our place and died for
our sins. Thank God He arose for our justification and all who
trust
Him as their personal Savior
are justified, saved by His Grace through faith in Him. Seven
miracles
of Jesus in John's gospel; 1.
Chapter 2, The water turned to wine (unfermented); 2. Chapter
4,
The nobleman's son healed; 3.
Chapter 5, The healing of the man at the Pool of Bethesda;
4. Chapter 6, The feeding of
5,000 +; 5. Chapter 9, Man born blind, given sight; 6. Chapter
11,
The raising of Lazarus; 7.
Chapter 21, The drought of fishes. John 21:25, "And there are
also many
other things which Jesus did,
the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that
even the
world itself could not contain
the books that should be written. Amen."
